Pronouns: she/her/hers Year: Junior Majors: Double Major in MCB and Individualized: Health Policies and Racial Disparities Fun fact: I love going on road trips just to try different coffee in New England! Research: I am a member of the Dealy Lab where I focus on understanding the roles of BMP signaling in the postnatal growth plate of mice and how the repression of these signals may contribute to the goal of stimulating spontaneous articular cartilage regeneration in osteoarthritis patients Other involvement: Outside of Pre-Medical Society, I am an alum of the WiMSE Learning Community as an FYE Mentor and currently the Vice President of the Learning Community Executive Council. I recently joined the 6th cohort of BOLD Scholars and a Peer Research Ambassador through UConn’s Office of Undergraduate Research. On campus, I am also a tour guide through Undergraduate Admissions and UConn Health Leaders. |

Research: I am a member of the Bahal Lab through the UConn School of Pharmacy and I am investigating antigene therapies for cancer treatment. Other Involvement: Outside of the Pre-Medical Society I am a student leader with UConn Community Outreach and serve as the program director for Campus Wide Initiatives to help plan large one day service events on campus. Am the founder of the Medical Clinic Club and the Neurosurgery Club. I also work as a tour guide on campus for the visitors center, am an RA, and am an EMT with Trumbull EMS & Valley EMS. |

Pronouns: he/him/his Year: Junior Majors: Physiology & Neurobiology and Sociology (Dual Degree) Fun fact: At one point at my parents’ house, I had ten pets: four dogs and six cats. Research: I am a member of The Cato T. Laurencin Institute of Regenerative Engineering where I am currently working on synthesizing microspheres loaded with non-opiate drugs for pain relief in a rat osteoarthritis model. Other Involvement: I am a volunteer with UConn Health Leaders at John Dempsey Hospital, a program that screens patients for social determinants of health and connects those who screen positive with appropriate resources, a BLS and STOP THE BLEED Instructor with UConn Rescue, an EMT at Tolland Fire Department, a peer mentor through the UConn Health Leaders Mentoring Program, and a member of the UConn Learning Community Council. |

Pronouns: she/her/hers Year: Sophomore Major: Dual Degree in Cognitive Science and Computer Science Fun fact: I am an avid yellow jeep enthusiast! Other Involvement: Outside of the Pre-Medical Society, here at UConn I am the Vice President of French Club, the Secretary of Law Society, the Treasurer of Women in Computer Science (WiCS), and an Event Coordinator for the Data Science Club. Additionally, I volunteer as a conversation partner with the UConn American English Language Institute (UCAELI) department, where I aid probationary students in improving their English skills to prepare for full enrollment at UConn. This past summer I worked as a student reviewer for graduate students in the UCAELI program. I am also currently a tutor for the BIOL 1107 tutoring program! |

Other involvement: I am a float pool patient care assistant (CNA) at Connecticut Children's Medical Center and Hartford Hospital. I volunteer at Vernon Manor Nursing Home and as a teacher at a Sunday school. I have worked as an office assistant for a psychiatric clinic and a family physician’s office. Last semester I was a MCB 2000 lab assistant for the Center for Students with Disabilities and plan to continue that if an opportunity is available. |

Pronouns: she/her/hers Year: Sophomore Majors: Double major in Physiology and Neurobiology and Spanish Minor: Chemistry Fun fact: I play 3 instruments: the violin, the clarinet, and the piano. I also love to lift! Research: This summer, I researched with the Scanlon lab exploring bone marrow and endothelial cells. This year, I am beginning involvement with the Wang Lab as part of Jackson Laboratories. I will be studying gene regulatory mechanisms that regulate leukemia survival and therapies. Other Involvement: Outside of pre-medical society, I am one of the trip leaders for the Bridge to Guanin medical trip, an EMT for Hunter’s Ambulance, a volunteer with the Collegiate Health Service Corps, and a mentor for the Genome Ambassador Program. I am also a member of Sigma Theta Alpha, a professional fraternity for pre-healthcare undergraduates. |
